Escape to the Washington Coast
A Beach Getaway is Born
A few years ago, Doug and Lorraine Rough were losing money in the stock market before it was a trendy thing to do. So, they took the remainder of the money they were saving for their kids’ college fund and invested it in a secluded house on the Washington state coast as an experiment. This little experiment has been a lot of work.
It has been a learning experience for us and we have had some stumbles. But by and large, most folks have enjoyed their stay and we have had many happy returns.
The view is stunning! Although the value of the property has increased, we have borrowed against the equity for improvements. We aren’t trying to make money so much as we’re trying to protect our children’s college fund and maybe have a place for our family to gather in the future—maybe your family, too.
How to Enjoy Your Oceanfront Getaway at Retreats and Reunions
We hope very much that your time at the R&R house becomes one of your cherished memories that you remember and talk about even decades later. But sometimes, things don’t always go right. Here’s a quick guide for what to do in that event:
If anything isn’t right, please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can try to address it as soon as possible.
Did you buy us something?
If you buy something you think we should have at the property and leave it behind, we will reimburse you up to $50 if you photograph it and send us the receipt.
Did you fix something for us?
We’ll also reimburse you for minor repairs, up to the amount we would have paid to get it done.
Need maintenance help?
If something breaks and you don’t want to mess with it yourself (since you’re on vacation!), you can call us and we’ll send out our maintenance guy.
